From San Pedro de Atacama: El Tatio Geysers Sunrise Tour - Entry Included

Leave before dawn and
greet the sunrise at the El Tatio Geysers

You will be picked up from your accommodation in central San Pedro de Atacama at around 5:00 AM and travel by minivan for about 1 hour 50 minutes up to the highlands at more than 4,300 m above sea level. At El Tatio, watch dozens of steam columns rise from the ground as the first rays of sunlight hit the Andes. The low morning temperatures make the contrast between the steam and the landscape even more striking.

Walk through the geothermal field with your guide

For about 1 hour 30 minutes, walk through the geothermal field with your guide and learn about the volcanic activity of the area. You can observe fumaroles, hot springs and natural formations created by underground energy up close. The guide speaks English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Have breakfast surrounded by Andean scenery

After visiting the geysers, enjoy breakfast and a rest of about 40 minutes with the Andes as a backdrop.

Return via Machuca and the Putana River

On the way back, stop at the highland village of Machuca for about 40 minutes for photos, free time and shopping. Then rest for about 30 minutes at Vado Río Putana and enjoy the Altiplano scenery. If conditions allow, you may see vicuñas, flamingos and other Andean wildlife. The tour ends in central San Pedro de Atacama.
