Highlights
This half-day snorkeling tour takes you to see corals and tropical fish in the clear sea of Iriomote Island, a World Natural Heritage site. Instead of a boat, you travel by PiPi vehicle to the beach and walk straight into the water (beach entry), so first-time snorkelers and families with children can join without worry. Your guide picks the best spot for the day's wind and tide, and snorkeling gear plus safety equipment such as life jackets and special shoes are all included. Choose a morning or afternoon session and book from just 1 person, making it easy to fit into your plans.
Program
No boat needed: drive to the beach
and walk straight into the sea
This is a beach snorkeling tour without a boat. You ride in the PiPi vehicle to the beach spot in the best condition that day, then walk in from the shore to snorkel. Thanks to the beach entry, it is easy to enjoy for people with no snorkeling experience and groups of all ages.
Get a briefing and gear up on arrival
Meet your guide at Uehara Port or your hotel in the Uehara area and drive about 5 minutes. On arrival, the guide explains how to snorkel and what to watch out for, and you put on your snorkeling gear, life jacket and special shoes. Wetsuits are provided in winter.
Swim among corals and tropical fish
Swim among plenty of corals and tropical fish in the sea of Iriomote Island. Your guide stays close to help, so beginners can join with peace of mind. The tour runs in the rain, and the spot is chosen according to wind direction, tide and crowds.
Return to Uehara Port after the tour
Snorkeling ends around 11:00 (morning) / 15:30 (afternoon), and you arrive at Uehara Port around 11:30 / 16:00. Guests who used hotel pickup are taken back to their hotel. This tour is run as a carbon-neutral tour that offsets the CO2 emitted while traveling.

Meeting point guide:
Look for the red vending machine. Meeting is around 9:00 (morning) / 13:30 (afternoon), and the exact time is given by phone the day before. If you are coming on a day trip from Ishigaki Island, please gather at Uehara Port.
Hotel pickup:
If you stay at a hotel in the Uehara area, we pick you up at the hotel entrance. Please change into clothes that can get wet and wait. Hotels outside the Uehara area (e.g. Jungle Hotel Painumaya, Eco Village, Latida Iriomote) are outside the pickup range, so please come to Uehara Port by bus or taxi.
