Spend a full day exploring Iriomote's
hidden gems and scenic spots with a local guide

Around 9:00 a.m., meet your guide at Uehara Port or your hotel in the Uehara area and set off by car. Your guide, who lives on the island, will introduce nature's charms only locals know and recommend photo spots you can only find here. Iriomote is a subtropical island registered as a World Natural Heritage site, where you can feel the different ecosystems of each area up close.

Visit Shirahama Port at the end of the road, Unarizaki Park and Hoshizuna Beach

Enjoy the quiet beach scenery at Shirahama Port, the last point you can reach by car at the end of Route 215. Then climb the observation deck at Unarizaki Park to take photos overlooking the ocean, and stop by the popular Hoshizuna (Star Sand) Beach.

See the wildcat statue on the sea road and Omija Road Park

On the road over the sea, take a photo with the Iriomote wildcat (yamaneko) statue against the island's mountains. Depending on the weather, you may also see Pinaisara Falls. At Omija Road Park, enjoy the view from the observation deck and observe the mangrove forest growing near the river mouth. Around noon, you will return to Uehara Port for a lunch break on your own.

In the afternoon, ride a water buffalo cart to Yubu Island

Regroup around 1:30 p.m. and head to Yubu Island with commentary from your guide. After crossing to Yubu Island by water buffalo cart, you can stroll around the island and enjoy the tropical scenery during free time. Around 4:00 p.m., the Yubu Island visit ends and you return to Uehara Port, where the tour ends.
