Step inside Osaka Castle Main Tower, known as Hideyoshi's castle, and explore the history of the castle and Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Floor by floor, you will find short films, armor try-ons, Warring States artifacts, and folding screens and dioramas of the Summer Siege of Osaka, and the 8th-floor observation deck offers 360-degree views over Osaka. This student ticket for high school and university students also includes one entry to the Toyotomi Ishigaki-kan.

This student ticket includes one entry each to Osaka Castle Main Tower and the Toyotomi Ishigaki-kan. It is for high school and university students, and a student ID is required.

Open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with last entry at 5:30 PM. Skip the ticket line and show your QR code at the entrance.

Hideyoshi's castle, first built in 1583

Osaka Castle was first built in 1583 and is known as "Hideyoshi's Castle." The current main tower, rebuilt in 1931, is a museum dedicated to Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the history of Osaka Castle.

White walls, green roof tiles and gold-leaf tigers and shachihoko on the eaves make it dazzling, especially in cherry blossom and autumn leaf seasons.

History exhibits on every floor

Watch short films about Hideyoshi and the castle in the 1st-floor theater, and try on helmets, battle surcoats and kimonos for photos on the 2nd floor (JPY 300 per session).

The 3rd and 4th floors display Warring States artifacts and castle models from different eras, the 5th floor features folding screens and dioramas of the Summer Siege of Osaka, and the 7th floor presents 19 scenes of Hideyoshi's life with high-tech projections.

From the 8th-floor deck 50 meters above the ground, take in 360-degree views of the castle park, the city skyline, the Osaka Plain and distant mountains.

There is no time limit, so you can explore at your own pace.

※ Photography is prohibited on the 3rd and 4th floors of the main tower.
※ Photos are allowed at the Toyotomi Ishigaki-kan, but video recording is not.
