at Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens

This is an admission ticket to Higashiyama Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Higashiyama Park, Chikusa-ku, Nagoya, Aichi. Opened in 1937, it is a large park with a zoo, botanical garden, amusement park, Higashiyama Sky Tower and more.

Hours of use are 09:30 to 16:30, and it is closed on Mondays and over the New Year (December 29 to January 1). Junior high school students and younger enter free.

A zoo with about 550 animal species

The zoo keeps about 550 species of animals, with koalas, giraffes and elephants especially popular. There is also a nature zoo focusing on nocturnal animals and the World Medaka Museum showing killifish from around the world.

A botanical garden with an Important Cultural Property greenhouse

The botanical garden has about 7,100 plant species, a Western-style garden, a Japanese garden and greenhouses. The greenhouse building, there since the park opened, is designated as a National Important Cultural Property for its outstanding construction.

Amusement park and Sky Tower

The park also has an amusement park and the Higashiyama Sky Tower, so you can enjoy a full day of variety. Cherry blossoms and autumn leaves color the park through the seasons.
