We got the private surfing lesson and at first we had a quick refresher (we surfer before but it was a while ago) and then we went straight into the water. Since we had one guide per person it was quite intense but I was able to stand up pretty quick and I got advice after every wave so I felt like I made a lot of progress in the 2 hour lesson!

incredible experience from some excellent teachers! unfortunately I had to stop early because of a migraine that made it difficult for me to be involved properly but I still had a few attempts and had a lot of friendly and positive support from the guys there. I will be back in canggu soon and I will come and see spicy surf again 100% to try again! Eb and Viki were amazing people, thank you!

This lesson of about 2 hours takes place at the surf school in the surf café Black and White on Batu Bolong Beach in Canggu. Whether you are a beginner or have stood on a surfboard before, the lesson is adjusted to your level, and you can choose between a private lesson and a group lesson.

Beginners start with a land lesson

After introductions, beginners spend 30 minutes on land learning how to stand up on the board, how to paddle and how to behave in the sea. Then you head into the water and surf for up to 1.5 hours.

Experienced surfers go straight into the water to ride waves, with coaching on stance and timing.

Surf safely with lifeguard-qualified instructors

All instructors are certified lifeguards. Equipment including soft-top surfboards, rash guards and leashes is provided, and wax, sunscreen and water are also included.
