Head to the Al Khatim Desert
in a Small-Group 4WD
Board an air-conditioned 4WD at your accommodation or a designated spot in Abu Dhabi and drive about 1 hour to the desert. Each vehicle carries a small group of up to 6 people. The Al Khatim Desert lies east of central Abu Dhabi, with fine, reddish sand dunes stretching endlessly.
Dune Bashing and Sandboarding over the Dunes
An experienced safari guide drives you up and down the ever-shifting dunes for thrilling dune bashing. Stop along the way to take photos against the desert scenery, and slide down the sandy slopes on a sandboard.
Camel Farm and Desert Culture
Visit a camel farm to take photos, and depending on conditions you may be able to feed the camels. Feel traditional desert life on a short camel ride, take a souvenir photo with a falcon and get henna painting. At the desert camp, watch the sunset over Arabic tea, coffee and soft drinks.
BBQ Buffet with Belly Dance & Fire Show
In the evening, enjoy a BBQ buffet with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Belly dance, a spinning tanoura dance and a dazzling fire show follow during dinner, and shisha is also available. You then return to your accommodation or a pre-arranged spot in Abu Dhabi.
