Cross the sand dunes of the Al Khatim desert on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi in a 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser. Leave Your Hotel and
Head to the Al Khatim Desert
Board your pickup vehicle at a hotel, mall or the cruise terminal in Abu Dhabi and head out of the city. After about 45–60 minutes, you arrive near the desert camp in the Al Khatim area. Al Khatim is a stretch of red sand dunes between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, well known for desert safaris.
Dune Bashing in a Land Cruiser
At the edge of the desert, switch to a 4WD Toyota Land Cruiser and enjoy about 40 minutes of dune bashing up and down the sand dunes. Glide over steep dunes and feel the thrill of the desert. On the way, stop at a camel farm for a short break.
Camel Ride, Sandboarding and an Arabian Camp
At the Desert Rose safari camp, relax with welcome refreshments, Arabic tea and coffee. Ride a camel, the traditional transport of the desert, and slide down the dunes on a sandboard. You can also take photos in traditional Arabic dress. Quad biking is available on site for an extra charge if you wish.
Evening Option: Desert Sunset, BBQ and Traditional Shows
With the evening safari option, watch the sun set over the dunes, then enjoy a BBQ dinner at the camp. Arabic desserts, Bedouin coffee and dates are served, followed by a belly dance and a spinning Tanoura dance show. You can also take photos with a falcon. After the program, you return to Abu Dhabi.
