Head into the golden desert
by 4x4 in the morning sun
An air-conditioned 4x4 picks you up from your hotel in Abu Dhabi. After about 45 minutes outside the city, you reach the Al Khatim Desert with its endless dunes. Located between Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, this reddish dune area shows its sand patterns clearly in the morning light, making it great for photos.
Thrilling dune bashing and photo stops
An experienced driver takes you up and down steep dunes for 30 to 40 minutes of dune bashing. The car stops at scenic spots so you can take photos against the vast desert.
Sandboarding and a traditional camel ride
After a short briefing, slide down the dunes on a sandboard. It is easy even for first-timers. Then get on a camel and walk slowly across the sand to experience the traditional way of crossing the desert.
Ride a quad bike across the desert (option)
If you choose the quad bike option, drive a quad bike yourself over the sand in a designated area. After the activities, return to your hotel in Abu Dhabi by 4x4.
