Meet your guide in front of the UNIQLO store at Connaught Place and head to Old Delhi. You stop at local eateries that the guide selects for quality, hygiene and authenticity and visits regularly, tasting dishes made from recipes passed down through generations of Delhi families. Rather than hopping between famous restaurants, this is a relaxed food walk where you sit down, chat and savor each dish.
Depending on the route and time of day, you may taste traditional Old Delhi snacks, vegetarian and non-vegetarian street food, authentic non-vegetarian dishes, Delhi-style butter chicken, rich traditional curries, local sweets and desserts, and Indian chai.
Explore from Chandni Chowk to Matia Mahal
Between food stops, you walk through the bustling markets, historic lanes and hidden spots around Chandni Chowk, Chawri Bazar, Ballimaran, Jama Masjid and Matia Mahal. On streets lined with centuries-old buildings and street vendors, you hear stories about the traditions and daily life of Old Delhi's people. Depending on the route, you may also ride a rickshaw, e-rickshaw or tuk-tuk.
Hear local stories over a cup of chai
There is also time to enjoy authentic Indian chai during the tour. Your guide shares local tips, such as what to order, where locals eat and how to avoid tourist overcharging. There are no shopping stops or sales pitches. The tour ends back at the meeting point.
