Take the metro to Old Delhi
and start your street food journey
Meet your guide at Gate 1 of Rajiv Chowk Metro Station in Connaught Place and ride the metro for about 10 minutes to Old Delhi. An English-speaking guide leads the tour, sharing the culture and stories behind each dish. The tour lasts about 4 hours.
Taste chaat and paratha in Chandni Chowk
For about 3 hours around Chandni Chowk, visit popular stalls to taste local specialties such as chole bhature, dahi bhalla and aloo chaat, plus paratha and lassi. Desserts follow, including very sweet jalebi, kheer (a local rice pudding) and shahi tukda (a bread pudding). Beyond the food, you will explore a large spice market and feel the energy of Old Delhi.
Ride a rickshaw to Jama Masjid
Ride a traditional rickshaw through narrow, busy lanes to Jama Masjid, where you stay for about 30 minutes admiring the grand mosque. All food on the tour is vegetarian, but meat lovers can choose to try Indian fried chicken or kebabs in the Matia Mahal area near the end of the tour.
Return to the starting point by metro
After the tour, you return by rickshaw and metro toward Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, the meeting point, where the tour ends.
