The tour begins with a short orientation on the Indian Jewish community. You will learn about its arrival in India about 2,000 years ago, its geographical distribution, its various sects and their culture, and the guide hands out illustrated handouts and notes to deepen your understanding.

Explore Sassoon Dock and Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue

The tour properly starts at Sassoon Dock, built by an influential Baghdadi Jewish family. It is full of life in the morning. From here, you move on to Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue, known for its beautiful interior, and the David Sassoon Library.

Visit Mumbai's oldest synagogue and Magen David Synagogue

Visit Shaar Harahamim (Gate of Mercy) Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Mumbai, built in 1796 by Samaji Hasaji Divekar (Samuel Ezekiel Divekar) of the Bene Israel community. Next, head to Magen David Synagogue, a tall blue building with a Gothic feel. It rises above every other building in the area, so you can spot it from afar.

See Victoria Terminus and Dhobi Ghat

See the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Victoria Terminus and the Bombay Town Hall, then move on to Dhobi Ghat, Mumbai's unique open-air laundry. Along the way, you can also see places such as Marine Drive and Chowpatty, Oval Maidan, the High Court, the University of Bombay and Flora Fountain. All transfers are in an air-conditioned vehicle.
