Highlights
Try hand-loom weaving at a Saori weaving workshop set in an old nagaya (row house) near Umeda and Nakazakicho. Pick your favorite threads from 500 colors and weave freely without fixed rules to create a piece that is all your own. You can make a scarf or a table centerpiece, and you can take your finished piece home the same day. It is a relaxed space where everyone from children to seniors can enjoy weaving.

Try Saori weaving
at a nagaya workshop near Umeda
SAORI Toyosaki Nagaya is a Saori weaving workshop that makes use of a nagaya near Umeda and Nakazakicho. No experience is needed, and the charm of Saori weaving is weaving freely without being bound by rules. The experience takes about 120 minutes.
Weave your own piece with colorful threads
Choose threads of many colors and weave them in to make a scarf, a table centerpiece and more. The material fee is paid separately on site depending on the weight of the thread used (11 yen per 1 g, usually about 1,500 to 2,000 yen).
Take your finished piece home the same day
You can take the piece you wove home on the day of the experience, making it a nice souvenir of your trip to Osaka.

It is about a 10-minute walk from the Chayamachi Exit of Hankyu Umeda Station, or about 7 minutes on foot from Exit 2 of Nakazakicho Station on the Subway Tanimachi Line. By car, it takes about 5 minutes from Ogimachi IC on the Hanshin Expressway Route 12 Moriguchi Line. There is no parking.
