Leave Strasbourg and
drive the Alsace Wine Route
This full-day wine tour starts at Place de la Cathédrale in Strasbourg and takes you along the Alsace Wine Route by minivan. You taste wines around Mittelbergheim, Dambach-la-Ville and Ribeauvillé/Riquewihr, and spend free time over lunch in the medieval villages. Your guide speaks English, and the group is limited to 8 guests. The tour takes about 8 hours.
Taste Riesling in Mittelbergheim

The tour begins in the Mittelbergheim wine area, known for the Grand Cru sites Zotzenberg, Kastelberg and Wiebelsberg. The soil here is said to suit Riesling especially well. Your first tasting features a selection that includes Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner and Riesling.
Next you head to Dambach-la-Ville, a village in the heart of the Alsace wine region where the Grand Cru Frankstein is produced.
Stroll through Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr

After free time for lunch, you travel to the Ribeauvillé/Riquewihr wine area, home to five Grand Cru appellations (Geisberg, Kirchberg, Osterberg, Schoenenbourg and Sporen).
You have free time to wander the two villages, which have kept their medieval character.
Taste more wines at selected wineries

In the afternoon, tasting sessions continue at selected wineries. Besides Riesling, the area makes fine wines from Pinot Gris, Muscat and Gewurztraminer.
After the tastings, the minivan takes you back to Place de la Cathédrale in Strasbourg.
