Head to the Somme battlefields
in a small group of up to 8
Depart from in front of Café Dada in Paris's 17th arrondissement and drive about 2 hours by minibus to the Somme. With a maximum of 8 people, the ride is comfortable, and your local guide explains the history of the war and the stories behind each site in detail. Admission fees are included.
Walk the Lochnagar Crater and the Newfoundland Memorial trenches
Explore the huge Lochnagar Crater, created by an explosion during the battle, with your guide, and walk through the WWI trenches at the Beaumont-Hamel Newfoundland Memorial. At the Thiepval Memorial and the Pozières Memorial, you also honor the soldiers who fought on this land.
Learn history at Villers-Bretonneux and the Sir John Monash Centre
Pay tribute to the fallen among the rows of graves at the Villers-Bretonneux Commonwealth Military Cemetery, then spend about 1 hour at the Sir John Monash Centre learning more about World War I.
Visit Amiens Cathedral and return to Paris
Finally, spend about 30 minutes at Notre-Dame d'Amiens, a showcase of 13th-century Gothic architecture, before returning to the starting point in Paris.
