The Château de Chantilly is an estate set in a vast 7,800-hectare forest, about 25 minutes from Paris by train. Skip the ticket queue and head inside the château, home to the Musée Condé.

See the royal apartments, a painting collection of more than 800 masterpieces by artists such as Botticelli, Raphael, Poussin and Delacroix, and the library and archives preserving over 13,000 works. Temporary and permanent exhibitions are also included in your ticket.

Visit the Horse Museum in the Great Stables

The Great Stables, regarded as a masterpiece of 18th-century architecture, house the Living Museum of the Horse, with more than 200 exhibits and works of art on the world of horses. Equestrian shows are also held at the Great Stables throughout the year.

Stroll through gardens from three eras

In the gardens, discover the 17th-century French formal garden designed by Le Nôtre, the 18th-century Anglo-Chinese garden with its hamlet (Hameau), which served as the model for Marie Antoinette's hamlet at the Petit Trianon in Versailles, and the 19th-century English garden. Picnics are allowed in the park, and tables are provided in the English Garden and the Hameau.
