The château was built by Nicolas Fouquet, superintendent of finances under Louis XIV; dazzled by its splendor, the young king imprisoned Fouquet and drew on this estate as inspiration for building Versailles. See fireplaces, chandeliers and festive decorations in the salons, transformed for Christmas. This year, small Christmas trees in each room take you around the world with themes such as the Kenyan savanna, Venice, a Neapolitan nativity scene, the Black Forest, a Japanese garden, English tea time, a Viennese ball, the Rio Carnival and the North Pole. In the kitchen, a 2-meter-tall Eiffel Tower made of chocolate awaits, and period furniture reflects 17th-century elegance.

Stroll through the illuminated French gardens

The French gardens designed by André Le Nôtre inspired gardens across Europe. The gardens feature light decorations, a wishing forest and a marshmallow-toasting gathering. Children aged 4 to 12 can join a treasure hunt.

Watch the light show on the façade at 6 PM

After sunset, at 6 PM, a light show of about 8 minutes takes place on the château façade. Watch the façade transform into a fantastic train traveling through colorful worlds, then ride the bus back to Bercy in Paris.
