Hear royal Joseon stories at Deoksugung

Visit Deoksugung, a Joseon royal palace built in the late 14th century that became the main palace during the Imjin War of 1592. Your guide tells you about 500 years of Joseon history and points out where Korean and Western elements come together at the palace. The visit to Deoksugung takes about 45 minutes.
Walk along Jeongdong-gil to Donuimun Museum Village

Jeongdong-gil is where early foreign missions and embassies helped shape modern Korea. You see sites such as Paichai Hakdang, Chungdong First Methodist Church, the former Russian legation site and Gyeonggyojang. At Donuimun Museum Village you walk for about 20 minutes through an open-air village of Seoul-style houses from the 1900s to the 1980s. Established in 2017, it preserves 40 of the 63 houses that once stood in Saemunan. There is also a break of about 15 minutes at a local cafe, with the cost paid separately.
Finish at Gwanghwamun Square and Cheonggyecheon

At Gwanghwamun Square in the center of Seoul, you hear the stories behind the statues and monuments that mark important moments in Korean history. After about 30 minutes there, you walk along Cheonggyecheon, a drainage channel turned into a walking path, for about 30 minutes, passing sculptures, cafes and seasonal festivals. The tour ends near 1 Cheonggyecheon-ro.
