Try najeonchilgi mother-of-pearl craft
at a studio near Hapjeong Station
In this hands-on class at a studio in Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, you learn the basics of najeonchilgi, a traditional Korean craft, for about 1 hour and take home one mother-of-pearl piece you made yourself. The instructor leads in English and Korean, and with up to 6 participants, even first-timers can join comfortably.
Hear the story of najeonchilgi and watch a demonstration

The class begins with a short introduction to the history and cultural meaning of najeonchilgi. The instructor then demonstrates, step by step, how thin pieces of shell are set into a design.
