BESTI joined this bus tour during my stay in Okinawa, and it turned out to be the best decision for exploring the southern part of the island. The itinerary was well-paced, covering Okinawa World, the Peace Memorial Park, and the Himeyuri Tower. I especially enjoyed visiting Okinawa World, where I could walk through the huge limestone cave and learn about local culture. The Peace Memorial Park and Himeyuri Tower were deeply moving. It was a meaningful reminder of Okinawa's history and the importance of peace. The guide was very friendly and provided explanations in both Japanese and simple English, which helped me understand the sites better. The bus was comfortable, and everything was well organized. If you want to experience Okinawa’s nature, culture, and history in one day without worrying about transportation, I highly recommend this tour!

Okinawa's unique nature and
Fall in love with it
This bus tour takes you around southern Okinawa, starting with a visit to Okinawa World. Okinawa World is a tourist facility where you can fully experience nature, art, and culture. It features the Gyokusendo limestone cave, said to have formed from coral reefs some 300,000 years ago; the Ryukyu Kingdom Castle Town, a beautiful street designated as a nationally acclaimed tangible cultural property; various craft experiences; the Habu Museum, themed around the Habu snake, a poisonous snake native to Okinawa; and the Tropical Fruit Garden, a tropical orchard with 450 trees and 100 different varieties.
"Super Eisa," a folk art performance filled with charm, is performed daily, so don't miss out on the diverse attractions. Experience the unique charm of Okinawa's natural environment.
Peace Memorial Park, a place to spread the spirit of peace

The Peace Memorial Park was built to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the end of the Battle of Okinawa and to convey the spirit of peace to the world. The names of the many victims of the Battle of Okinawa are engraved on stone monuments, and today, the park also honors those who died in other wars, not just those in Okinawa.
Himeyuri Tower commemorating war victims

The Himeyuri Unit was formed in March 1980 at the request of the military, comprised of 320 female students from the Girls' Normal School and First High School, and assigned to the Special Nursing Unit. The cave next to the tower is a place of tragic history, where some committed suicide, unable to move even a step, while others died in a US poison gas attack. The Himeyuri Tower is a memorial tower that enshrines the remains of 211 female students and 16 staff members, and is now a park commemorating their history.
Okinawa's largest shopping center, IAS Okinawa Toyosaki

Ice Okinawa Toyosaki, a large amusement park located in Japan's southernmost part, opened in June 2020 and boasts over 130 shops, including the DMM Kariyushi Aquarium. With plenty to see and do, including an indoor miniature theme park, we recommend exploring every nook and cranny.
