‘Autumn leaves save the earth’
Forest of Environmental Art
The Environmental Art Forest, located halfway up Mt. Sakurai, is a maple forest that was built over a period of nearly 40 years. With the slogan ‘Maple leaves save the earth’, more than 10,000 maple trees have been planted. The arrangement of small waterfalls and rocks adds to the atmosphere of this forest. In fall, over 10,000 maple trees paint the valley with colorful colors. It is attractive to see fresh green leaves around May. Although the fall foliage is the main attraction, you can enjoy its own charm no matter what time of year it is.
If you want to see autumn leaves in Japan,
There is no place like this
Because the Forest of Environmental Art is a maple forest, it is loved as an autumn spot. More than 10,000 autumn leaves make you realize that fall has arrived. Not only the fall foliage, but also clear water, waterfalls, and rocks are added to enhance the scenery here. The Forest of Environmental Art is a private forest where soil and trees are placed to revive nature that has been destroyed by humans, with the goal of creating a beautiful and livable natural environment.
Here, you can take a walk while enjoying the scenery, which is the result of human efforts for nature. Escape the world and relax in nature.
Enjoy your leisure time at the entrance to the forest
At the entrance to the Environmental Art Forest, there is a building called Pungyusanjang (風遊山荘). This building was built using scrap metal from an old house built 150 years ago, giving it a unique atmosphere. The view from the second floor of this place is beautiful, so it is also a popular photo spot. When I look at the forest reflected in the clear water, I feel like my fatigue disappears.
Additionally, beverages such as coffee and juice are sold on the first floor. Before entering the forest in earnest, you can purchase drinks and take them with you. They also sell Japanese amazake, amazake, so if you're curious, I recommend trying it.
Healing while taking a walk in the forest!
The Forest of Environmental Art is well managed, making it great for walking and viewing the scenery. You can heal while looking at the flowing water, forests, and Japanese houses.
You can take a walk through the forest in about 20 minutes, so you can enjoy it without any pressure. I heal while breathing the clean air here.
