Introducing the JR Kyushu Fukuoka Wide Pass, recommended for those who want to travel throughout Fukuoka. With the Fukuoka Wide Pass, you can explore all of Fukuoka, including Hakata and Kurume, via the JR Kyushu Line. In particular, the Wide Pass allows you to use most limited express trains, excluding the Shinkansen, such as the Limited Express Sonic, Limited Express Kirameki, and Limited Express Kamome, making it really fast and convenient.

Who is eligible to use it?

Available to all nationalities except Japanese. All foreign tourists visiting Japan for tourism purposes with short-term stay entry status from countries other than Japan can use it.

Introducing the available sections

Based on Fukuoka Hakata Station, you can use the sections east to Kokura, Noseki, and Yukuhashi / south to Tosu, Kurume, and Omuta, and west to Meinohama and Karatsu.

You can visit all the destinations within the map above with just this one pass, so it's a good idea to check the areas you want to visit in advance.

What types of trains can I ride?

You can easily ride almost all trains owned by JR Kyushu, except for the Shinkansen and some tourist limited express trains (all seats reserved). You can also take the Sonic train, which we often take when going to Kokura.

Are you traveling to Karatsu?

If you are traveling to Karatsu, there is an important point to keep in mind. The JR train and Fukuoka City Subway that travel to Karatsu operate directly with each other, so you must first board the Fukuoka City Subway.

When you arrive in Karatsu, be sure to show your Fukuoka transportation card or pass along with the wide pass at the ticket gate, so be prepared so you don't panic!
