Kaniya, meaning "crab house," truly specializes in crab-based cuisine. Crafted in traditional Hokkaido style, they offer a variety of dishes, including crab tofu, crab sashimi, and shaomai. Kaniya's signature crab hotpot, in particular, boasts a deep, rich flavor, made with the chef's secret broth. Kaniya is also located near tourist attractions like the Kanjiro Museum, Yasaka Shrine, and Daiunin Temple, so be sure to visit during your trip to savor the delicious flavors of crab!

Kaniya offers king crab, known for its savory, thick meat; hairy crab, with its rich, greenish innards; and queen crab, known for its sweet flavor. The king crab, in particular, is of the highest quality, caught only one week a year off the coast of Portomora.
