The National Museum of Art, Osaka, is hosting two exhibitions: the special exhibition 'For a Placard' and the permanent exhibition 'Collection Highlights.' This ticket allows you to view both exhibitions.

The special exhibition 'For a Placard' explores how the simple act of writing words on paper and wooden boards and holding them up expands into a social message. In 1961, artist Mitsuko Tabe wrote in 'For a Placard' about the possibility of a single placard changing society. She expressed the will of resistance against the harsh reality and the hope that bloomed within it through art. This exhibition borrows the title of that text and features seven artists who have explored the themes of 'dignity' and 'living' in their respective lives.

In the permanent exhibition 'Collection Highlights,' you can see major collections representing the National Museum of Art and recently acquired works. From the practices of artists from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, such as Paul Cézanne and Max Ernst, to the works of contemporary artists such as Joseph Beuys, Takashi Murakami, and Maria Farrar—this exhibition allows you to appreciate the trends and diverse expressions of modern and contemporary art at a glance.

Ticket Option Information

Tickets are available as general admission tickets and night discount tickets. Night discount tickets are available for admission between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Fridays and are approximately 200 yen cheaper than general tickets. Book the ticket option you want and enjoy easy admission on the day!
