Departing Melbourne early in the morning, we'll travel inland rather than along the coast. We'll stop in a small country town for an individual breakfast and coffee, followed by a short break before heading to the key areas of the Great Ocean Road.

Our first major stop is the 12 Apostles. Admire the iconic scenery where massive limestone pillars meet the Southern Ocean from the lookout points. A key feature of this tour is that by traveling in the reverse direction of typical Great Ocean Road tours, we can visit the main attractions relatively early.

Next, we'll visit the Razorback, a long, sharp limestone formation, the Gibson Steps lookout, and Loch Ard Gorge, a beautiful area surrounded by cliffs and beaches. Listen to stories from your guide about the 19th-century shipwreck of the Loch Ard and tales associated with this region. Afterward, enjoy a leisurely lunch at Port Campbell or Apollo Bay.

Walk through the Otway Forest and return along Apollo Bay and Lorne

Leaving the coastal cliffs behind, we'll head into the Great Otway National Park. For about 20 minutes, walk along forest trails with your guide to experience the unique nature of the Otways up close, including lush temperate rainforest trees and ferns.

Then, we'll travel back towards Melbourne along the stunning coastline of the Great Ocean Road. As we pass through Apollo Bay, enjoy the scenery where the mountains meet the sea. Along the way, your guide will help you spot wild koalas, kangaroos, and colorful parrots.

Finally, we'll stop in the popular coastal town of Lorne for some leisure time and to admire the beach scenery. Afterward, we'll return to Melbourne, concluding our day's journey.
