After pickup from a designated hotel in San Francisco, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and head north. Travel in a vehicle with air conditioning and Wi-Fi while your English-speaking guide shares stories of Napa and Sonoma, the history of winemaking, and how to taste and appreciate wine throughout the day. A location-based audio guide in 8 languages is also available on request.
Walk the redwood trails of Muir Woods in the morning
Arrive at Muir Woods National Monument in the morning, when the forest is relatively quiet. Spend about an hour walking at your own pace along the trails beneath the ancient coastal redwoods, enjoying the fresh forest air and taking photos among the towering trees.
Taste wine at 3 boutique wineries in Sonoma and Napa
First, head to Sonoma Valley for your first tasting at a warm, family-run winery. Learn about the winery's history and winemaking methods and sample a variety of locally produced wines. After lunch, visit a second winery in Napa Valley, where a guided tour explains the winemaking process in detail, followed by another tasting surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills.
The third and final winery is back in Sonoma Valley. Taste more Northern California wines and enjoy a special olive oil tasting offered by the winery.
Enjoy lunch and free time at Sonoma Plaza
Stop at historic Sonoma Plaza for lunch and free time. Browse the local shops or choose from the many nearby restaurants. If you select the lunch option, you will enjoy a 3-course lunch with wine pairings, choosing one dish per course: a cheese plate, soup or Caesar salad, and a main course (grilled salmon, pasta, chicken scaloppini, cheeseburger, and more).
On the way back to San Francisco, make a short photo stop at the Golden Gate Bridge before being dropped off at your hotel.
