Muir Woods Guided Tour from San Francisco (Admission & Round-Trip Bus, via Sausalito)

Depart from Fisherman's Wharf
with a mini city tour on the way out

Meet your guide at the Tower Tours/Big Bus office at Fisherman's Wharf and board the bus. As you leave the city, the driver gives a mini city tour, explaining the history and architecture of San Francisco and the surrounding area.

Cross the famous Golden Gate Bridge and head to Marin County, enjoying California's natural scenery along the way. The bus ride to Muir Woods takes about 1 hour.

Walk through the forest at Muir Woods for 1 hour 30 minutes

At Muir Woods National Monument, you spend 1 hour 30 minutes in the forest. Admission is included, so there is no need to buy a separate ticket. Walk along the trails to admire the towering old-growth redwoods and learn about the area from your guide.

Stop for 45 minutes in the waterfront town of Sausalito

Continue to Sausalito, a waterfront town overlooking San Francisco Bay. See the main sights as you pass through town, then enjoy a 45-minute stop with free time.

Afterward, the bus returns to 99 Jefferson Street at Fisherman's Wharf. If you would like to stay longer in Sausalito, you can stay and return later by ferry. Ferry tickets are not included and can be purchased from the driver or directly at the ferry terminal.

Add city sightseeing with the combo option

The hop-on hop-off combo option adds a 24-hour hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour. The inclusions also list a 1-hour panoramic sunset tour and a 1-hour Chinatown walking tour, and digital commentary is available on the hop-on hop-off buses. The combo tours can be used on a different date from the Muir Woods tour.
