Board Ocean Spirit, a 32-meter sailing catamaran, at Marlin Marina next to the Reef Fleet Terminal. After a safety briefing with coffee, tea and welcome refreshments, sail for about 2 hours to Michaelmas Cay. Morning tea with muffins and focaccia is served, and the cruise uses both motor and sail depending on the day's weather.

Michaelmas Cay is a national park surrounded by fringing reef full of colorful marine life, and an important sanctuary for migratory birds. Spend 4 hours here, using the beach buggy boat to travel between the catamaran and the beach, and snorkel straight from the beach in the shallow water. Snorkeling gear, a lycra suit and a buoyancy vest are provided, and a fish feeding presentation with commentary takes place on arrival.

Explore the reef by semi-submersible

Join a 30-minute Reef Discovery Tour by semi-submersible or glass-bottom boat with live commentary from a marine biologist, and see the reef without getting wet. You can also enjoy an educational, interactive presentation by a marine biologist. An introductory scuba dive or a guided snorkel tour led by a marine biologist is available when you select the matching option at booking.

Relax with a buffet lunch

Enjoy a buffet lunch of hot and cold dishes with fresh prawns, and afternoon tea with a tropical fruit platter and cake of the day. Relax on the beach or the spacious deck and watch the island's birds. On the way back, enjoy a glass of sparkling wine with cheese and crackers under sail during the roughly 2-hour cruise to Cairns.
