From Queenstown: RealNZ Milford Sound Cruise & Coach Day Tour

Travel the Milford Road
in a glass-roof coach

Depart from the RealNZ Visitor Centre at Steamer Wharf in Queenstown and travel along the shores of Lake Wakatipu through the countryside to Te Anau. Take a 20–30-minute break in Te Anau to use the restrooms or buy coffee and snacks.

Continue along the dramatic alpine Milford Road, stopping for photos and short walks at places such as the Eglinton Valley, Mirror Lakes and Monkey Creek. An experienced local nature guide provides live commentary in English.

Choose your cruise style

The Classic cruise lasts 1 hour 40 minutes on a spacious boat purpose-built for comfort and stability, with multilingual commentary available through the RealNZ Milford Sound app.

The Signature cruise lasts 2 hours on one of the operator's unique boats with guided commentary. Enjoy barista-made coffee or local craft beer and cabinet snacks on board.

Discover waterfalls and wildlife along the fiord

From the spacious decks, follow the full length of the fiord with panoramic views of waterfalls and mountains, and look for native wildlife such as seals, dolphins and penguins. Bring your own lunch or purchase locally sourced food and drinks on board.

After the cruise, reboard the coach at the Milford terminal, take a short break in Te Anau and return to Queenstown.
