Queenstown Skippers Canyon & Blue Ice Glacier Helicopter Tour

Take off west
from the Frankton helicopter base

Board your helicopter at the Heliworks Queenstown base on Grant Road in Frankton. Hotel pickup and drop-off are optional. After takeoff, you will pass over Queenstown and head west, with commentary from your experienced local pilot throughout the flight.

Look down on the historic gold fields of Skippers Canyon

Fly over rugged Skippers Canyon and enjoy sweeping aerial views of its historic gold mining area. Follow the dramatic canyon and icy terrain toward the glacier landing site.

Land on a glacier with blue ice

Land on a remote, untouched ice field and stay for about 10 minutes. Feel the soft snow underfoot and the crisp mountain air as you see the deep blue glacier ice up close and take photos.

Return to base over Queenstown

After the landing, fly back over Queenstown taking in the surrounding scenery, and return to the Grant Road base where you started.
