From Calgary: Columbia Icefield, Athabasca Falls & Peyto Lake Day Tour

Depart from Calgary and drive
the Icefields Parkway

Depart from your booked location in Calgary, Canmore or Banff and head into the Canadian Rockies in an air-conditioned van or vehicle. Along the way, your local guide explains the history and ecology of each site in English.

See the glacier clinging to the mountainside at the Crowfoot Glacier viewpoint (about 10 minutes), then photograph the tranquil glacial waters of Bow Lake surrounded by mountains (about 15 minutes).

Stop at turquoise Peyto Lake
and the Waterfowl Lakes viewpoint

Spend about 30 minutes at Peyto Lake, a glacier-fed lake famous for its vivid turquoise water, taking photos and enjoying the view. The itinerary also includes a stop at the Waterfowl Lakes viewpoint (about 10 minutes).

Choose your activity
at the Columbia Icefield

Spend about 3 hours at the Columbia Icefield Discovery Centre. You can either join the Columbia Icefield Adventure for an extra fee or visit Athabasca Falls and Sunwapta Falls instead.

If you choose the waterfalls, you spend about 30 minutes at each of Athabasca Falls and Sunwapta Falls, seeing the powerful cascades and turquoise water up close.
