About the Host

Program

Depart from your hotel in Calgary or Banff
and drive the Icefields Parkway

Depending on your option, meet your guide at Coast Calgary Downtown Hotel at 8:00 AM or Banff Aspen Lodge at 9:35 AM. Travel in an air-conditioned vehicle along the 232 km Icefields Parkway linking Banff and Jasper National Parks, enjoying about 2 hours of mountain lakes, glaciers and wide valleys.

Spend about 20 minutes at Bow Lake admiring the blue water of the glacier lake that forms the headwaters of the Bow River. At the Crowfoot Glacier Viewpoint, spend about 15 minutes viewing the glacier named for its crow’s-foot shape and hear the story of its greatly retreated "third toe".

Experience the glacier
at the Columbia Icefield

At the Columbia Icefield, you have about 2.5 hours for lunch and a guided tour. If you wish, ride the Ice Explorer up onto the glacier and walk on ancient ice at an additional cost.

before heading back

Spend about 20 minutes at Peyto Lake enjoying one of the most iconic turquoise lake views in the Rockies. At the end of the tour, you will be dropped off at your meeting point.
