Choose your wood
from 26 varieties
Ginzabashi Chopsticks is a chopstick-making experience run by a 90-year-old woodcraft company headquartered in Ginza, Tokyo. With 26 types of wood and 2 lengths to choose from, you compare the color, grain, weight and texture of each wood to find the one that suits you.
Woods with special scents and rare woods such as Yakusugi cedar and pink ivory are also available. Five types of wood are available at no extra cost, and other woods cost extra depending on the material.
Plane, sand and oil-finish them yourself

After choosing your wood, shape the chopsticks with a hand plane, carefully smooth them with sandpaper and finish them with oil. By carving, polishing and finishing them yourself, you create a one-of-a-kind pair. Friendly English-speaking staff support you carefully until the end, so first-timers can enjoy it with peace of mind.
Film the process and take your chopsticks home

Each table has a smartphone stand, so you can easily film yourself while making the chopsticks. Take your finished chopsticks home the same day and use them every day as a reminder of your trip to Japan.
※ Personalized engraving costs extra.
※ Some premium and rare woods cost extra.
