Li Mengrong's hutong courtyard traditional culture studio is located in the courtyard of a traditional house just outside the East Gate of the Forbidden City, about a 3-minute walk away. Historic sites such as Pudu Temple and the Imperial Ancestral Temple (Taimiao) are nearby, making it easy to combine with sightseeing around the Forbidden City.

Learn the tea ceremony while tasting two Chinese teas

During the tea ceremony you will taste two kinds of Chinese tea, chosen from a variety such as black, green, oolong and pu'er. While brewing the tea, your host explains Chinese tea culture and shares knowledge about tea.

Your host is a local whose family has lived here for generations. Chatting in the hutong courtyard, you can get a close look at the lives of local Beijing residents. The studio also sells Song Dynasty imperial-style porcelain (Ru ware) and quality tea as souvenirs.
