Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour - Multilingual Guide

Board the bus at Dongzhimen Station
and head to Mutianyu

Meet at Exit C of Dongzhimen Subway Station in central Beijing and ride an air-conditioned coach to Mutianyu (about 1.5 hours). Shuttles depart daily at several times, including 7:30, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 and 13:00, and some options offer a 6:30 AM departure to avoid the crowds or a 1:00 PM departure for the sunset. The guide speaks English, Spanish or Russian depending on your option.

Skip the ticket line and walk the wall

Options with tickets let you enter without waiting in the ticket line, and a shuttle bus (1 time) takes you up and down inside Mutianyu. You have about 4 hours for sightseeing and 1 hour of break time. The cable car or toboggan to the wall costs extra, and your guide will help you buy tickets.

At the visitor center run by the operator, you can enjoy free tea, snacks and luggage storage.

Add a lunch buffet or an architecture talk

Buffet options include a village-style lunch buffet. With the 30-minute insight guided tour, you get up close to watchtowers, walls and beacon towers while the guide explains how this ancient defense system worked.

With the 5 km guided hike option, you ride the cable car up and walk with the guide through Mutianyu's varied sections, from restored walls to sections in their original state.

Options that also visit the Summer Palace

The Mutianyu Great Wall and Summer Palace option ends with drop-off at No. 1 National Stadium South Road (中国北京市朝阳区国家体育场南路1号). The boat ride at the Summer Palace costs CNY 100 per person extra. Other options include an English private tour with Beijing hotel pickup, ticket and lunch, and a one-way bus to Mutianyu only.
