Beijing Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour - 5 Daily Departures

Take the bus from Dongsi Station
to the Mutianyu Great Wall

Check in with the guide in a green vest at Exit E of Dongsi Station (Subway Lines 5/6) in central Beijing, then ride an air-conditioned bus to Mutianyu, about 1 hour 30 minutes away. On the way, the guide explains the Great Wall and how to get around on site.

Departure times range from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM depending on the option and date. The 2:00 PM sunset tour departs from Hepingxiqiao Station, and the car service and private tour options include hotel pickup.

Walk the walls and watchtowers of Mutianyu freely

Mutianyu is less crowded than Badaling yet well restored and pleasant to walk. You spend about 4 hours on site, exploring watchtowers and following the old stone paths at your own pace. Options with tickets let you skip the ticket line, and the free shuttle bus within the scenic area is available.

The wall runs along forested ridges and the scenery changes with the seasons. Expect lush green in summer, autumn foliage in fall and snowy landscapes in winter.

Ride the cable car or toboggan for extra fun

If you wish, you can use the cable car or the toboggan (a sled-style slide) to go up or down the wall. Each costs 140 RMB per person and is not included. Choose the lunch buffet option to have a buffet meal included.

Add the Summer Palace with the right option

With the Mutianyu & Summer Palace option, you travel about 1 hour by bus after the Great Wall and spend about 3 hours at the Summer Palace. The Great Wall XR option adds a Great Wall XR experience to the Mutianyu tour. After the tour, the bus returns to central Beijing, and the drop-off point depends on the option.
