Beijing Chairman Mao Memorial Hall Ticket

Enter the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall
at the south of Tiananmen Square

This ticket includes an official advance reservation for the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, located at the southern end of Tiananmen Square in central Beijing. You enter through the North Hall, the main entrance, where a seated white marble statue of Chairman Mao stands in front of a large tapestry depicting the landscapes of China.

Pass through the Hall of Reverence to the South Hall

From the North Hall you continue to the Hall of Reverence. At its center lies the body of Chairman Mao in a crystal coffin, dressed in a grey Zhongshan suit and covered with the flag of the Communist Party of China, resting on a black granite platform. Visitors must pass through this area quietly.

The South Hall serves as the exit. One of its white marble walls bears Chairman Mao's poem "Man Jiang Hong: Reply to Comrade Guo Moruo" in gilded calligraphy.

Explore modern Chinese history on the second floor

The second floor has six exhibition rooms dedicated to the lives of Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping and Chen Yun. Photos, documents and historical artifacts show key stages of the revolution, construction and reform eras, and a documentary on modern China is screened in the education hall.
