About the Host

Highlights

This private tour picks you up at your hotel in Osaka or Kyoto and takes you around the highlights of Kyoto and Nara in a dedicated vehicle for the day. After booking, plan the day with the operator and visit the places you want at your own pace, from the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Kinkaku-ji to the vermilion torii gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha, Nara Park and Todai-ji. An English-speaking driver/guide accompanies you and shares the history and culture of Kyoto. As a private group just for your party, it is a comfortable way to travel with family or friends.

Program

Get picked up at your hotel
and explore Kyoto and Nara on your own itinerary

After booking, the operator will contact you via the contact details provided at booking to plan your day in advance. On the day of the tour, you will be picked up at your hotel in Osaka or Kyoto at your preferred time and set off in a private vehicle. Tolls and fuel are included, and a Wi-Fi hotspot is available on the move.

Visit Arashiyama, Kinkaku-ji and Fushimi Inari Taisha

The suggested itinerary starts at the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove with its towering bamboo, continues to Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion) whose upper two floors are covered in gold leaf, and then to Fushimi Inari Taisha, famous for its endless vermilion torii gates. You will spend about an hour at each spot for photos, guided explanations and sightseeing.

Next, stroll through Gion, enjoy shopping and a break at Nishiki Market, and visit Kiyomizu-dera. If you like, you can change the plan to include Kodai-ji, Yasaka Shrine, Hanamikoji, Sanjusangen-do, Ginkaku-ji, Nijo Castle and more.

Meet the deer of Nara Park and see Todai-ji

After a drive of about 45 minutes, arrive at Nara Park to meet the deer and explore Todai-ji while taking photos. You can also add Nigatsu-do, Kasuga Taisha, Mount Wakakusa, Horyu-ji, Shin-Yakushi-ji or the Naramachi streets. The tour ends back in Osaka.
