This tour takes you to Xi'an's top sights, the Terracotta Army, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the Xi'an City Wall, in one day with a professional guide. At the Terracotta Army Museum you spend about 3 hours exploring Pits 1, 2 and 3 while hearing the stories behind Emperor Qin Shi Huang's 2,200-year-old underground army. Lunch is a buffet with more than 25 dishes and local snacks, and in the afternoon you continue to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the City Wall, ending at the Muslim Quarter. Downtown Xi'an hotel pickup and admission fees are included, and you can choose between a small group (about 12 people) and a private tour.

In the morning, your guide meets you in the lobby of your downtown Xi'an hotel. Ride about 1 hour in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Terracotta Army, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while your guide explains its background on the way.

At the Terracotta Army Museum, spend about 3 hours exploring the 2,200-year-old underground army of Qin Shi Huang, China's first emperor. See all three pits with more than 8,000 life-size warriors, horses and chariots, and visit the special exhibition of rare artifacts.
In Pit 1, feel the scale of the vast army and sometimes see ongoing excavation work. In Pit 2, learn to tell the warriors' ranks by their postures and armor, and in Pit 3, see the command center of the entire underground army.

Lunch is a buffet with more than 25 dishes. Along with local specialties made by chefs in the open kitchen, such as roujiamo (Chinese burger) and hand-pulled noodles, there are Western favorites like macaroni, fried chicken and croissants. Pastries, fruit and soft drinks are also served.

In the afternoon, return to the city and spend about 1 hour at the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, which played an important role in translating and spreading Indian Buddhist scriptures brought along the ancient Silk Road. Then walk along the Xi'an City Wall for about 1 hour, taking in views where the old city meets modern Xi'an. If you wish, your guide can help you rent a bike to ride on the wall (at your own cost).
Finally, pass by the Muslim Quarter, Xi'an's liveliest food street. If you want to have dinner and enjoy the night views of the nearby Bell Tower and Drum Tower, you can get off here and return to your hotel on your own; the rest of the group is driven back to their hotels.
