Visit a local family's home in Beijing and learn how to make dumplings and Chinese home-style dishes. A live guide leads the experience in English, and it takes about 4–5 hours.
Discover Chinese ingredients at a wet market
The group tour meets at Exit B of Gulou Dajie Station on Metro Line 2, while the private tour starts by meeting your driver at your hotel. Walk through a local wet market and learn about the ingredients used in Chinese cooking.
Prepare the filling and wrappers and fold your own dumplings
At the family home, prepare the filling and wrappers and practice folding neat dumplings with your host. Choose two more dishes to cook together from Kung Pao chicken, sweet and sour pork, scrambled eggs with tomato, cabbage stir-fried in soy sauce, or pork with mung beans.
Share a meal and tea with your host family
Enjoy lunch or dinner with your host made from the dishes you cooked. Afterwards, chat with your host over tea and learn about local family life.
