Meet Sapa for the first time in Cat Cat and Sin Chai

Leave Hanoi between 6:00 and 6:30 am, travel to Sapa by expressway and take a short break in Lao Cai. Arrive in Sapa around 1:00 pm for lunch and some rest.
In the afternoon, take a short visit to Cat Cat Village to see the waterfall and traditional crafts and learn about the area’s history. Continue toward quieter Sin Chai Village, then return to Sapa for dinner and a night at the hotel.
Walk the rice terraces from Y Linh Ho via Lao Chai to Ta Van

At 8:00 am on day 2, start the main trek through the rice terraces from Y Linh Ho to Lao Chai. A local guide who grew up in these mountains leads you along paths away from the tourist routes.
