Program
Take a boat from Maafushi
to Shark Point
Meet on Maafushi and travel by boat to Shark Point. Get into the clear water and snorkel among dozens of nurse sharks, known for their gentle nature. Nurse sharks are usually 2-3 m long, but they are generally docile. You can ask your guide to take photos of you swimming with the sharks.
Explore quiet Fulidhoo Island and meet stingrays
Next, stop at the harbor of Fulidhoo, a smaller and quieter island than Maafushi. At only about 700 m long, it is ideal for a walk along sandy lanes, a visit to local shops, or a rest on the bikini beach. Then head to the jetty to watch large stingrays gathering near the shore, waiting for fishermen's scraps. Stand knee-deep in the water and watch them glide around your feet up close.
Enjoy a picnic lunch on a sandbank
Have a picnic lunch overlooking the turquoise sea on an uninhabited sandbank or on Fulidhoo Island. The sandbank visit depends on the sea level. Afterwards, there is another session of snorkeling and photo time.
Look for spinner dolphins in the dolphin lagoon
On the way back to Maafushi, stop at the dolphin lagoon to look for pods of playful spinner dolphins. The tour starts early in the morning and returns to the starting point in the late afternoon.
