Spend a full day exploring the vast gardens and royal estate of the Palace of Versailles by bike. Instead of seeing only part of the gardens on foot, you ride to the Grand Canal, the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon, and Marie Antoinette's Estate. Before the ride, you stop at the Versailles town market to pick your own picnic food such as baguettes, cheese and wine, then enjoy a picnic lunch beside the Grand Canal. A timed-entry palace ticket is included, so you can also visit the Hall of Mirrors.
This full-day tour takes you around the Palace of Versailles by bike with an English-speaking guide. The royal estate covers more than 2,000 acres, and on foot most visitors see only part of the gardens. By bike, you can leisurely ride along tree-lined garden paths and around the Grand Canal. It is a relaxed ride of about 10 miles (about 16 km) on fairly flat terrain.
During the tour, you stop at the Versailles open-air market to choose whatever you like for your picnic lunch, such as baguettes, cheese, ham and wine. The cost of the food is not included.
Enjoy a picnic lunch beside the Grand Canal in the palace gardens with the food you bought at the market. Then visit the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon, and ride to the Queen's Hamlet, Marie Antoinette's favorite retreat.
With your timed-entry ticket, you enter the Palace of Versailles and walk through the Hall of Mirrors, where King Louis received his guests. This is also where the Treaty of Versailles, which ended World War I, was signed.
※ The tour runs in all weather conditions.
※ Garden entry is included on fountain show days.
