The Tourist Octopus Card is used in Hong Kong as a transport pass and payment card. It comes preloaded with HKD 50 of available balance, so you can use it right after picking it up at Counter A13 in the Arrival Hall of Hong Kong International Airport. The Octopus card itself is valid for 7 years.

Exchange at Counter A13, Arrival Hall

Show the QR code you received after booking at Counter A13 in the Arrival Hall of Hong Kong International Airport to exchange it for a physical card. The counter is open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, so please arrive within these hours. You may also authorize someone else to collect it for you.

Pay easily without cash

Tap the card instead of paying cash at designated convenience stores, food courts, vending machines and more. If the balance is zero or negative, the card cannot be used until it is topped up.

Top up anywhere and get your remaining balance back

Top up via the Octopus App or with cash at stores across Hong Kong, such as 7-Eleven, OK Convenience Store, McDonald's, Watsons and Mannings. Unused balance can be refunded in cash at any MTR station (excluding Airport Express counters).

※ When topping up, keep the card on the reader until you hear a "beep" and see the transaction complete and balance displayed.
※ If the card is altered, such as by bending it or attaching stickers, it cannot be used and the remaining balance will not be refunded.
