Staff help you from choosing a kimono to getting dressed, and women can also get a simple hairstyle for free. The store is about a 3-minute walk from the JR Kyoto Station Central Exit, so you can drop off your luggage and head straight to Kyoto sights such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Fushimi Inari Shrine in a kimono.

Choose your favorite kimono
at the Kyoto Station Store
Visit the store on your booked date and time slot (12:00–12:30 or 14:00–14:30), show your QR code and choose a kimono. Women's kimonos come in 4 grades: Standard, One Star, Retro Modern and Retro Premium, and you can upgrade to a higher grade on site. Men can choose from a variety of designs available at the store on the day.
The store helps with dressing and hair styling
Experienced staff dress you step by step, from the undergarment to the obi (sash). Dressing takes about 20 minutes per person, and women can get a simple hairstyle for free. Accessories such as hairpins, lace decorations and maiko parasols, or special hair styling, can be added for a fee.
Stroll the streets of Kyoto in a kimono
Once you're ready, enjoy sightseeing freely in your kimono. From the store, Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Ninenzaka/Sannenzaka are about 26–27 minutes by bus, Minamiza Theatre in Gion about 20 minutes by bus, and Fushimi Inari Shrine about 12 minutes by train from Kyoto Station. You can leave one bag at the store for free, and return the kimono to the store by 17:30 on the same day.

About a 3-minute walk from the JR Kyoto Station Central Exit or the North Ticket Gate of Kyoto Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway. It is directly connected by underground passage to the Porta underground shopping mall at Kyoto Station. The building is across from the Kyoto Tower Building on its east side, with the izakaya "Suishin (酔心)" on the ground floor. Take the elevator at the back to the 6th floor.
