Tokyo Asakusa WASAKE Sake Tasting Experience

Taste up to 10 premium sakes
in Asakusa

Sample up to 10 sakes from a lineup of more than 50 selected from breweries across Japan. Compare a variety of styles, from dry to sweet, cloudy nigori to sparkling, and find the sake that suits you. An English-speaking sake expert guides you.

Advanced: learn in depth at a sake sommelier workshop

A workshop-style experience led by a certified sake sommelier (kikisake-shi). First, spend about 30 minutes learning about sake ingredients and brewing, the differences between types, and the role of sake in Japanese culture, and how to read labels and classifications.

Next comes about 30 minutes of comparative tasting. Compare three Dassai sakes to see how the rice polishing ratio changes the flavor, and learn the range of styles such as dry, rich and fruity through three different sakes. For the final up to 45 minutes, choose 4 sakes yourself from the premium collection and enjoy them with the sommelier's guidance.

Standard: a guided tasting focused on learning by tasting

This experience focuses on understanding through tasting rather than technical explanations of brewing. In a 15-minute quick masterclass, learn the basics of sake classification and how to read labels, then spend 15 minutes experiencing how the rice polishing ratio changes aroma and taste with three signature Dassai sakes.

Then, for up to 75 minutes, choose 7 sakes from the premium collection to complete a 10-sake tasting. The guide offers personalized recommendations.
