After pickup from your hotel in Kota Kinabalu city, ride in an air-conditioned vehicle for about 50 minutes to Mari Mari Cultural Village. On the way, enjoy Sabah's countryside scenery and hear about local communities and landscapes from your local driver/guide.

Explore the traditional houses of Sabah's indigenous peoples

On arrival, join the scheduled guided cultural program (guided tour, walk and safety briefing, about 2.5 hours). Visit traditional houses representing Sabah's various indigenous communities and learn how each community built homes, prepared food, used natural resources and lived day to day.

Your guide explains the background and meaning of each activity, and you can see traditional architecture, tools and household items. You can take photos of the traditional houses and demonstrations while respecting the village's customs and guidelines.

Enjoy traditional demonstrations and cultural performances

Depending on the day's schedule, you can watch or take part in traditional demonstrations and activities such as cooking, handicrafts, music and games. Then enjoy a traditional cultural performance featuring music and dance. After the program, meet your driver/guide again and ride about 50 minutes back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu.
