Nearly 90% of Iriomote Island is covered in undeveloped jungle. In this subtropical nature, home to mangroves and many other plants and animals, you explore by canoe the different ecosystems found at each field. Enjoy rivers and coastlines lined with mangroves and giant rocks, and discover the island's nature like an explorer.

Stable canoes, so beginners are welcome

Canoes are highly stable and safe, so a wide range of people from children to adults can enjoy them. First-timers are taught by the guide how to get in and how to paddle. You wear safety gear such as a life jacket and special shoes, and the guide stays with you.

Head to the best field for the day's wind and tide

Meet your guide at Uehara Port or your hotel in the Uehara area in the morning (09:00) or afternoon (13:30). Ride in the PiPi vehicle for about 10 minutes to the tour field, get ready, and enjoy canoeing for about 1 hour 30 minutes. The guide chooses the field based on the day's wind, tide and crowds. The tour takes about 2 hours including transfers.

If your schedule allows, the afternoon tour is recommended as it is usually less crowded than the morning tour.

Free photo data and hot shower

During the tour, the guide takes photos of participants and sends you the photo data for free. Rental of all canoe equipment and safety gear, and a hot shower after the tour, are included in the price. Participants also receive a special page with coupons for local restaurants and information on hidden spots.
