Iriomote Island Full-Day Tour: Mangrove SUP or Canoe & Barasu Island Snorkeling

with two activities

This tour combines a mangrove SUP or canoe trip with Barasu Island snorkeling in a single day. You meet your guide at Uehara Port or your hotel in the Uehara area and head to the field, doing one activity in the morning and one in the afternoon, each lasting about 1 hour 30 minutes. Before each activity, your guide gives a detailed briefing on how to paddle or snorkel and on safety rules.

Paddle through the mangroves by SUP or canoe

Explore the subtropical nature lined with mangroves on a SUP (stand-up paddleboard) or canoe. Choose between SUP, where you stand on the board and paddle, and canoeing, a classic Okinawa activity. SUP is for ages 12 and up, so please choose the canoe if you are joining with children aged 6 to 11.

Snorkel in the clear sea around Barasu Island

Snorkel in the sea around Barasu Island, an island of coral fragments that appears above the water only at certain times. See colorful coral and fish in the crystal-clear water, and if you are lucky, you may even spot sea turtles.

Free lunch break, then back to Uehara Port or your hotel

After the first activity there is a lunch break (11:30 to 13:30 in the sample schedule). Lunch is at your own arrangement, and you can ask your guide for restaurant recommendations. After the second activity, guests who met on site finish there, and guests using the transfer are taken back to Uehara Port or their hotel. The tour takes about 7 hours including breaks and transfers.

※ Depending on the wind direction, tide and crowds on the day, you will be taken to the best field, and the activity may take place at sea instead of in the mangroves.
