Wow! What an experience! It was magical canoeing by mangroves, see the Cranes take a morning dip, foraging for breakfast and see the sun rise over a stunning scene. Sara was a great tour guide!

Highlights

On this tour of about 2 hours, you greet the sunrise while paddling a SUP or canoe along the mangrove forest of the Miyara River on Ishigaki Island early in the morning. Paddle among mangroves designated as a natural monument of Japan and watch the sky turn orange, pink and purple from the calm water. You can choose either the SUP or canoe course, and you also receive photo data taken by your guide.

Program

Meet before sunrise
and head to the Miyara River

Meet your guide early in the morning at Euglena Ishigaki Port Remote Island Terminal and travel about 15 minutes by car to the Miyara River. If you stay in the southern area of Ishigaki Island, you can also use the free shuttle.

Paddle a SUP or canoe through the mangroves

Paddle along the Miyara River for about 1 hour 30 minutes on the SUP or canoe you chose when booking. Pass through mangroves designated as a natural monument of Japan and enjoy the quiet morning waterway.

Greet the sunrise on the water

As the sun rises, the sky turns vivid orange, pink and purple, and the colors are reflected on the calm surface. After enjoying the peaceful morning scenery, return to the meeting point by car.
